The upcoming four-day match between India A and Australia A, starting Thursday, will spotlight Abhimanyu Easwaran, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Prasidh Krishna. All three have been named in India's squad for the five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy series beginning November 22, and their performances in Australian conditions will be closely monitored. Easwaran's role is particularly crucial, as the 29-year-old opener could step in for Rohit Sharma if the captain needs to miss a game.
As vice-captain of India A, Easwaran brings a wealth of experience, having played 99 First-Class matches, scoring 7,638 runs with 27 centuries and 29 fifties. His recent form is promising, with a strong showing in the Duleep Trophy, where he scored 157 and 116 for India B, followed by a remarkable 191 against Mumbai in the Irani Trophy and an unbeaten 127 against Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy.
While Easwaran is well-prepared, the unique conditions in Australia will present a new challenge. Nitish Kumar Reddy, however, does not have as impressive a First-Class record, and his performance will also be critical as the team seeks reliable contributors.
