Why Twelve Home Venues For Ten IPL Teams? All Venues List for IPL 2025

Indian Premier Season’s eighteenth edition is just around the corner, and this season, we will see games on twelve grounds. In this article, we will discuss all the venues.

There will be twelve home venues across the country. Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings are going to have two home grounds. Both teams will play starting matches on one ground while the last games will be on another. The number of venues will be increased if needed. We will talk about the case where this can happen.

The two other venues in the season will be the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association’s Dharmshala Cricket Stadium and Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.

Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings will play the first phase of the season in Mohali, while the latter phase of the season will play their matches in Dharamshala. The team has done this in the past, too, when they played with two venues. In a season, the team has also played in the Indore cricket stadium in Madhya Pradesh.

Let's talk about the Punjab Kings' prospect of winning this season. The team has gathered a bunch of match winners in the team during the auction, including the record-breaking purchase song Shreyas Iyer, which the team bought at 26.75 crore, along with his team has also bought Arshdeep Singh, Glen Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis.

Rajasthan Royals

The 12th venue of the season will be Barsapara Cricket Stadium of Guwahati. Rajasthan Royals also played on this ground last year and will continue this season. The team will play the initial sets of matches in the Sawai Man Singh stadium in Jaipur, while the remaining matches will be played in Guwahati.

Last year, the IPL season featured 13 venues, including Visakhapatnam. Delhi Capitals played a few initial matches there due to the bad condition of Arun Jaitley stadium in Delhi, which happened due to the back-to-back matches during the Women's Premier League just before the IPL.

It's very interesting how franchises are increasing their footprint in different parts of the country to bring more fans to their side. The Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings have done this in the past. Delhi played at two different venues for the first time in the last IPL season, and we will see how many other franchises will Join this bandwagon in the upcoming seasons.
