Multan Sultans release Sahibzada Farhan from the squad
Multan Sultans have released their top-order batter, Sahibzada Farhan, from the squad before the break in their schedule. Besides Farhan, the franchise has also allowed time off to their batting consultant Sohaib Maqsood. Both members will join the side ahead of their clash against Peshawar Zalmi on April 13.
Break in schedule
According to the franchise spokesperson, the decision comes in the wake of a policy set by owner Gohar Shah and head coach Tim Paine, which allows players and staff to take personal time during gaps in the schedule.
Earlier, players from other franchises, most notably David Warner, Muhammad Waseem, Adam Zampa, and Khuzaima bin Tanveer, were also released from Karachi Kings’ squad during a similar break. All of them, barring Warner, have rejoined the side ahead of their clash against Peshawar Zalmi in Karachi, while Warner is expected to return soon.
Multan at the top
Multan played their last game on April 6 and have their next game scheduled with a week’s gap on April 13. Currently at the top of the table, the side have won four of their five games, losing to the title-defending Lahore Qalandars.
Sahibzada has been central to their campaign this season as he is currently the highest run-scorer of the league. He has amassed 232 runs in five games at a strike rate of 181, including one century and one half-century.
