Key Historical Milestones

  • Establishment & Debut (2017-2018): Established in 2017 as the sixth team, they debuted in 2018. Originally owned by Schön Properties, the franchise later moved to Ali Khan Tareen.
  • Initial Struggles (2019): After a promising start, the team finished poorly in 2019, failing to reach the playoffs.
  • The Rise (2020-2021): Under the leadership of coach Andy Flower and captain Mohammad Rizwan, the team turned into a powerhouse.
  • Championship & Consistency (2021-2024): Won their first PSL title in 2021. Following their victory, they achieved an unmatched record of appearing in four consecutive PSL finals (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024).
  • 2026 Transition: Following a dispute, the franchise was sold to Walee Technologies for a record price in early 2026, transitioning from the Sialkot Stallionz, while retaining the iconic Multan Sultans branding.

When was the team Multan Sultans introduced?

In April 2017, a few weeks after the conclusion of 2017 Pakistan Super League, PSL chairman Najam Sethi announced that there would be a sixth team in the third season.

Who were the captains of the team?

In the 2018 season, Shoaib Malik was appointed as the captain. Later, Shaan Masood captained the team in 2020 and from 2021 Mohammad Rizwan is the skipper of the Multan Sultans.
