Nahid Rana to join Peshawar Zalmi for PSL Final
Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana will join his Pakistan Super League (PSL) team, Peshawar Zalmi, for the final of the competition after the Bangladesh Cricket Board granted him a No-Objection Certificate (NOC).
Nahid rested for workload management
Rana, along with fellow Bangladesh players in Zalmi, including Shoriful Islam and Tanzid Hasan Tamim, was initially given an NOC until April 13, after which the players were required to fly back home for the New Zealand ODI series.
The NOC was extended by one day to allow Zalmi to field him against Multan Sultans on April 14.
Decision reversed
After the third ODI against New Zealand national cricket team, the BCB decided against sending Rana back to the PSL in a bid to manage his workload. He was also rested from the first two T20Is. However, in the latest development, that decision has been reversed as well.
"This decision has been made considering the significance of participating in the final of a major global franchise competition, which is viewed as an important step in the continued development of the player," the BCB said in a statement.
"More importantly, the team management and BCB medical team have provided clearance, confirming that his participation in the match will not adversely affect his fitness, workload management or availability for national duty."
Pace and accuracy
Nahid Rana was impressive for Peshawar in the short stint he represented the franchise. Playing four games, he grabbed seven wickets, including a 3/7 against Karachi Kings.
Peshawar Zalmi defeated Islamabad United in the Qualifier to become the first team to reach the PSL 11 final.
