Fatima Sana confident her team can handle the World Cup pressure

Pakistan women's team captain Fatima Sana believes her side is well-prepared for the challenges they will face during the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup.

Pakistan in group of death

Drawn in the same group as women's cricket behemoths India, South Africa, and Australia, as well as Netherlands and Bangladesh, Pakistan will potentially face an uphill task. However, Fatima is upbeat about her side's chances.

"We are excited to compete against the world's best teams, and the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in England is another opportunity to showcase our skills on the global stage," Fatima said during a pre-tournament discussion in Ireland, where her side is involved in a tri-series against the home team and West Indies.

"World Cups bring pressure, emotions and unforgettable memories together, and being part of those moments is a dream for every cricketer," she stated.

Fatima believes Pakistan are ready

Pakistan are fresh off a 3-0 clean sweep against Zimbabwe in a home T20I series. Before that, they avoided a whitewash against South Africa by winning the final game of the series.

Pakistan finished fourth in their group in the previous edition of the tournament, winning only one match. However, Fatima believes the team is now far better prepared.

"We have a strong combination of experienced players and talented youngsters, with consistent performers like Muneeba Ali, Nashra Sandhu and Sadia Iqbal, while the team now understands much better how to handle pressure and make the most of opportunities," she said.
