Karachi Kings continue with David Warner as the captain for PSL 11
Karachi Kings will once again be led by Australian batter David Warner for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Warner released and then re-hired
Warner, who last year captained Karachi to their first playoff since 2021, was released by the franchise ahead of the auction as they were allowed to retain only four players. However, during the auction, a tense bidding war erupted between the franchise and Peshawar Zalmi, with the former refusing to back down on the Australian player.
Eventually, Warner was roped in by his 2025 team for PKR 79 million, making him Karachi’s most expensive player this season.
Warner in PSL X
The Australian batter remains the most successful Karachi Kings captain in terms of win-to-loss ratio (1.2). Besides captaining his side to six wins in eleven games, Warner also amassed 368 runs while striking at 153.97. His tally includes three fifties, one of which came in his debut PSL game against Lahore Qalandars.
The eleventh edition of the PSL is set to begin on March 26, with eight teams competing in the league for the first time.
