Pakistan-Australia ODI series likely to start in late May in Lahore

Pakistan could host Australia at Gaddafi Stadium for a three-match ODI series, as per the tentative schedule revealed by sources.

Tentative Schedule

According to reports, the opening ODI is likely to be played on May 31, with the second and third games scheduled for June 2 and June 4, respectively. The series, the official schedule for which will be announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), is aimed at preparing both teams for the ODI World Cup next year.

This will only be the second time Australia will play a bilateral ODI series in Pakistan since 1998. Previously, they played three matches in April 2022, which the hosts won 2-1. Australia were also scheduled to play three games in Pakistan during the 2025 Champions Trophy, though only one could be completed due to rain.

Busy schedule ahead for Pakistan

Pakistan have a packed schedule ahead. After the Pakistan Super League (PSL), which ends on May 3, the team will travel to Bangladesh for a two-Test series from May 8 to May 20 as part of the World Test Championship (WTC). This will be only their third red-ball outing in the current WTC cycle, followed by Test series against England, West Indies, and Sri Lanka.

Pakistan are currently fifth on the WTC points table, having won one and lost one. The last time they played a Test match was in October 2025 against South Africa.
