Pakistan bowlers on top as Australia slump to 157 in series decider

Australia had another tough outing as they succumbed to 157, their lowest total against Pakistan. Barring captain Josh Inglis who played a resilient 65-run innings, none of the batters even crossed 20 runs. Additionally, seven batters went back without getting into double figures.

Australian batters fail to go big

Besides Inglis, Marnus Labuschagne, Alex Carey, and Adam Zampa were the other batters to score in double figures. While Labuschagne and Carey scored 19 runs each, Zampa added 10 runs off 23 balls as he resisted Pakistan's onslaught.

Pakistan as a unit were brilliant with the ball. Captain Shaheen Shah Afridi led the attack, taking three wickets in eight overs for just 31 runs.

Besides him, Haris Rauf picked up one wicket, while spinners Shadab Khan and Abrar Ahmed picked up two wickets each. This was Shadab's first ODI wicket in 300 balls and first multi-wicket haul since August 2023.

The hosts also effected two run outs, which accounted for Marnus Labuschagne and last batter Nathan Ellis. After Inglis fell, Australia were 119 for 4 and could only get 38 more runs for the next six wickets.

Spinners dominate

Australia won the last game, which saw them level the series. The pitches for batting haven't really been easy in this series, with the highest total across all innings being just 231 runs. Bowlers, on the other hand, have found plenty of success with the tracks, especially spinners taking 20 wickets in the first two games.
