India Tour of New Zealand 2026: Full Schedule for T20Is, ODIs and Tests Announced

India Tour of New Zealand 2026: Full Schedule for T20Is, ODIs and Tests AnnouncedNew Zealand Cricket (NZC) has announced its home schedule for the 2026-27 season, with India’s much-anticipated tour serving as the marquee attraction. The Indian team is set to spend over a month in New Zealand, playing five T20Is, five ODIs, and two Tests across October and November 2026. The tour will be particularly significant for India, who will be eager to make amends after suffering a historic home Test series whitewash against New Zealand in 2024.

The tour will begin with a five-match T20I series in October. India and New Zealand last met in the final of the 2026 T20 World Cup in Ahmedabad, where India emerged victorious to claim their second T20 world title. The upcoming series will provide another opportunity for both sides to renew their rivalry in the shortest format before shifting focus to the 50-over game.

ODI Series Gains World Cup Significance

The five-match ODI series scheduled for November will carry added importance, with the 2027 ODI World Cup approaching. Both teams are expected to use the series to fine-tune their combinations and assess their squads ahead of the global tournament. Matches will be played across Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton, and Mount Maunganui, giving fans around New Zealand the chance to watch the two cricketing giants in action.

Following the limited-overs leg, the teams will lock horns in a two-match Test series. The first Test will be played at the Basin Reserve in Wellington from November 19 to 23, while the second Test will take place at Hagley Oval in Christchurch from November 27 to December 1. India will be aiming to reverse their fortunes in red-ball cricket and secure a strong result away from home.

The 12-match tour will be the largest inbound international series ever hosted by New Zealand Cricket, spanning five major centres. NZC officials expect huge interest from fans, especially considering the popularity of Indian cricket stars such as Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. The tour is expected to attract packed crowds and significant global attention throughout its duration.

After India’s departure, New Zealand will continue their busy home season by hosting Sri Lanka for three ODIs, three T20Is, and two Tests in January and February 2027. Meanwhile, the New Zealand women’s team will host Bangladesh Women for three ODIs and three T20Is in December 2026, ensuring a packed summer of international cricket across the country.
