India vs India A: Intra-Squad Match to Be Held Without Media Coverage

India vs India A: Intra-Squad Match to Be Held Without Media CoverageThe Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has restricted media and broadcasters from showing the India vs India A practice match. This one-off warm-up game, ahead of the England series, will begin on June 12 at the Kent County Cricket Club ground in Beckenham. Unlike the two unofficial India A Tests against England Lions that fans could watch on JioHotstar, this match will not be live-streamed.

According to the Hindustan Times, the BCCI stated that no media or broadcasters will be allowed access to the practice match. The board also mentioned that on the final day of the game, a player or a support staff member will speak to the media.

“June 13–16: Closed intra-squad game. No vision access to Media/Broadcast. On the final day of the squad game, a player/member of support staff will be made available to the media,” the BCCI said in its statement.

It’s still unclear what India’s playing XI will be for the practice game. Eight players Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Karun Nair, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Shardul Thakur, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Akash Deep are part of both the India A and the main squad. Who they will play for in this match is yet to be confirmed.
