Abdullah Fazal scores twin fifties, becomes sixth Pakistan batter to achieve the feat
Bangladesh’s fast bowlers and spinners doing their tricks, heat and humidity messing with the senses, and the pressure of chasing a 250-plus target on a fifth-day wicket — Abdullah Fazal braved it all in a very eventful second session on the final day.
Fazal brought Pakistan back into the race
He scored his second fifty of the game, becoming the sixth Pakistan batter to achieve the feat on debut.
Around him, two quick wickets fell, with Azan Awais and Shan Masood departing within the space of a few overs. Abdullah and Salman Ali Agha not only kept the scorecard ticking but also increased the run rate. Fazal kept clearing the gaps as he hit 11 fours throughout his stay.
The young batter survived a scare when a ball hit his stumps but was unable to dislodge the bails. Overall, his innings was built on well-timed shots and extremely impressive running between the wickets.
Abdullah was dismissed on 66, with Taijul Islam trapping him LBW in the first over after tea.
