Varun Chakravarthy Shines in India’s T20I Series, Nominated for ICC Player of the Month

On February 6, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the nominees for the ICC Player of the Month awards for January 2025, recognizing standout performances by players in international cricket.

For the ICC Men's category, the star Pakistan spinner Noman Ali, the Indian mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy, and the West Indies spinner Jomel Warrican are nominated for the ICC Player of the Month awards, after delivering outstanding performances in both Test and T20 cricket.

Noman Ali (Pakistan)

The star Pakistani spinner Noman Ali took 16 wickets in two Test matches against the West Indies team, including a 10-wicket haul in the second match. He made history with a hat-trick in Tests and he became the first Pakistan spinner to achieve this record in Test cricket.

Varun Chakravarthy (India)

The Indian mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy performed very well in the recent T20I series against England, where he grabbed 14 wickets in five T20Is against England, with a standout 5/24 in Rajkot and he won the Player of the Series. With his excellent performance, he achieved joint second place in the ICC T20I bowler rankings.

Jomel Warrican (West Indies)

The West Indies spinner Jomel Warrican took 19 wickets in two Tests against Pakistan and won Player of the Series. His figures of 7/32 in the first Test and 5/27 in the second Test helped secure a historic win against Pakistan, resulting in a drawn series.
