T20 World Cup 2026: 17 Teams Confirmed, Namibia & Zimbabwe Seal Spots, Asia–EAP Qualifier Next

Seventeen out of the 20 teams for the 2026 T20 World Cup are already confirmed. The last three spots will be decided after the Asia–EAP Qualifier. In the Africa Regional Final for the 2025 T20 World Cup, the semifinals wrapped up with Namibia beating Tanzania by 63 runs, while Zimbabwe defeated Kenya by 7 wickets. With these wins, both Namibia and Zimbabwe have sealed their place in the 2026 T20 World Cup, which will be played in India and Sri Lanka.
Namibia and Zimbabwe will face each other in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Regional Qualifier on October 4 at the Harare Sports Club. However, the result will not affect their qualification, as both teams have already booked their spots for the 2026 T20 World Cup in India.
T20 World Cup 2026: 17 Teams Confirmed, Final 3 to Be Decided in Asia–EAP Qualifier
With the conclusion of the Africa Regional Qualifiers, 17 out of the 20 teams for the tournament have now been confirmed. In the next two weeks, Oman will host the 2025 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia-Pacific Regional Final. A total of 9 teams will compete, with 21 matches scheduled.
The groups are divided as follows: UAE, Malaysia, and Qatar are in Group A; Japan, Nepal, and Kuwait are in Group B; while Papua New Guinea, Oman, and Samoa make up Group C. The top two teams from each group will move on to the Super 6 stage. From there, whichever teams end in the top three will qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 from the Asia-East Asia and Pacific (EAP) Qualifier.
