South Africa's Corbin Bosch Makes History with First-Ball Wicket Against Pakistan

Corbin Bosch, the fast-bowling all-rounder from South Africa, mastered it in his first Test cricket match on Thursday by taking a batsman out with his very first delivery in red-ball cricket; the game was the opener against Pakistan at SuperSport Park.

The right-arm pacer made his mark in the 15th over of Pakistan's innings, dismissing Shan Masood with a sharp delivery that was caught by Marco Jansen in the slip.

Bosch's Impressive Performance on Day One

Bosch just became the fifth individual from South Africa to take a wicket on his first ball in Test cricket, and there are only 24 other players in the world who've done that. He's now on the same level as Nathan Lyon, a spinner from Australia, who caught a wicket with his first ball too; this was a great moment for him.

Tom Horan from Australia was the first ever to take a player out the first time he bowled the ball in a game against England in Sydney in 1883. From Pakistan, Intikhab Alam is the only individual to begin his test career with such an amazing feat.

Bosch had obtained four wickets, giving up only 63 runs during his 15 overs. He took out Shan Masood, Saud Shakeel, N Shah, and Aamir Jamal. Considering both Bosch's wickets and Dane Paterson's five wickets, Pakistan's innings in the first Test against South Africa at Centurion concluded with a total of 211 runs. The final wicket fell at 57.3 overs, with Khurram Shahzad being dismissed.

The match is still ongoing at the time of writing, South Africa had scored 54 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 12 overs, trailing Pakistan by 157 runs.
