Corbin Bosch Regrets Skipping PSL for IPL, Apologizes After One-Year Ban by PCB
The PCB have banned South Africa allrounder Corbin Bosch from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for one year as a penalty for withdrawing from this year's tournament despite being picked at the draft. Bosch was chosen as a top pick (diamond category) by Peshawar Zalmi during the PSL draft. But later, he was signed by the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing IPL season as a replacement for an injured player.
Since the Pakistan Super League (PSL) clashed with the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season, Corbin Bosch chose to play in the IPL instead. Because of this, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sent him a legal notice, saying he broke his contract.
Bosch banned from PSL
Bosch said he was sorry for pulling out of the PSL. He apologized to the people of Pakistan, the Peshawar Zalmi fans, and everyone in the cricket world. He admitted it was his mistake and said he’s ready to face the punishment, including the fine and the ban.
"I deeply regret my decision to withdraw from the PSL and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi, and the wider cricket community. To the loyal fans of Peshawar Zalmi, I am truly sorry for letting you down. I take full responsibility for my actions and accept the consequences, including the penalty fine and the one-year ban from the PSL. This has been a hard lesson, but I am committed to learning from this experience, and hope to return to the PSL in the future with renewed dedication and the trust of the fans." Corbin Bosch said as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) used to take place between February and March. But this year, it was shifted to April and May because Pakistan's international cricket calendar was already packed. As a result, the country’s biggest T20 league is now happening at the same time as the 18th season of the popular IPL.
The 10th season of the PSL kicks off on April 11, with defending champions Islamabad United facing Lahore Qalandars in the opening match in Rawalpindi.
