Rohit Sharma's Childhood Coach Suggests to play Domestic Matches to Gear Up for Test Cricket
In the recent test series against Australia, Rohit Sharma did not perform well. Sharma played in three games and batted five times but scored only 31 runs in total. Since the series was important because it could decide if India made it to the World Test Championship final, a lot of people were expecting more from him.
Because he didn't score much, a large number of people, including fans and ex-cricketers, started wondering if he should stop playing test cricket. This talk grew even louder after Rohit chose not to play in the important match in Sydney, mainly because he was not performing well with his batting. Even though Rohit said on January 4 that he wants to keep playing test cricket and isn't thinking about quitting, people still wonder if he should be on the team.
Dinesh Lad, who trained Rohit when he was a child, had something to say because things were very uncertain. "Lad mentioned that playing several games in domestic cricket would be a smart choice for Rohit to get very prepared for Test matches. Lad pointed out that what Rohit really wants is to win the World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup for India".
He stated, Rohit wants to win the World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup. He's not the only one who's having a hard time scoring runs at the moment. He could have quit playing all types of cricket after India won the T20 World Cup but he stopped playing T20 cricket. To prepare for Test cricket, he should really play some domestic matches.
"Lad mentioned how T20 cricket made several batters think differently. He noted Rohit being very good at cricket, pointing out that he did very well against England last year. When we win, everyone says Rohit is the greatest leader of the team but if we lose, all of a sudden they all have a problem with how he leads", Lad said.
India didn't make it to the WTC final for the third time in a row, so now they're preparing carefully for a major Test series. They have five matches to play against England when June arrives. Everyone's looking at whether Rohit will keep his place on the team since he's only managed to obtain 122 runs in his last six Tests, which isn't great. The first match of the series begins on June 20 in Leeds.
