ICC Champions Trophy: India's Top Run Scorers

With less than 50 days remaining for the ICC Champions Trophy, all the teams have started preparing for the prestigious ICC tournament. This article will discuss India's top run scorer in the Champions Trophy.

Eight teams will participate in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and Afghanistan will debut in the Champions Trophy. The tournament, which is returning after eight years, faced a delay in the schedule announcement due to the diplomatic tussle between India and Pakistan. The Indian team tonight to travel to Pakistan citing security reasons, the face of which went on for over 2 months, finally solved when all the nations agreed to play in a neutral venue in the ICC events.

For India, multiple batters have performed in the Champions Trophy; these are the top run scorers.

Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan, India’s highest scorer in the Champions Trophy, has scored 701 runs in 10 matches. Along with scoring three centuries and three half-centuries, he had an outstanding batting average of 77.88. Dhawan played an important role in India's victory in the ICC Champions Trophy 2013. India won the Champions Trophy for the first time in 2013.

He was also the player of the tournament in the Champions Trophy 2013 and had also won the Golden Bat.

Sourav Ganguly & Rahul Dravid

Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid, India's second and third most run scorers in the Champions Trophy, scored 665 and 627 runs, respectively. In the 13 matches, Ganguly had an average of 73.88, while Rahul Dravid had an average of 43.39 in 19 matches.

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli is the fourth-highest scorer for India in the Champions Trophy and has scored 529 in 13 matches. Kohli also holds the record for the best average by any batter in the Champions Trophy, scoring over 500 runs with an average of 88.16. Virat scored five half-centuries with the highest score of 96*.

Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is the fifth-highest run-scorer for India in the Champions Trophy, scoring 475 runs in 10 matches with an average of 47.50, along with one century and a half-century and highest score of 150.

The Champions Trophy 2013 was a game-changer in Rohit's career. He started batting as an opener with Shikhar Dhawan and scored runs at an average of 66.7, including multiple high-scoring opening partnerships with Dhawan.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will start on 19 February with a match between Pakistan and New Zealand and end on 9 March with the final. The much-awaited India versus Pakistan game will be played on 23 February in Dubai.
