We are now approaching the end of WPL 2025, and the Mumbai Indians, the inaugural season's champions, have reached the final for the second time, aiming for their second title in three seasons. Mumbai is geared up for the finals, coming off a strong performance from both batters and bowlers. This article will discuss their predicted playing XI for the upcoming match.

In the current season, Mumbai has performed well and is coming off a huge victory in the Eliminator against the Gujarat Giants, defeating the team by over 50 runs. Before that, in the group stage, Mumbai won 5 out of the eight matches played, winning all the matches against the UP Warriorz and Gujarat Giants while losing and winning one match against RCB.

Top Order

In the top order for the opening, Yashika Bhatia and Hayley Matthews will lead the Mumbai Indians in this match. Both batters performed well in the last match against the Gujarat Giants; Hayley scored a crucial knock of 77 runs, while Bhatia managed to score only 15 runs. In the third position, Mumbai will have Nat Sciver-Brunt, who scored an impressive half-century against the Gujarat Giants in the last match, scoring 77 runs off 41 balls. Nat is also the highest run-scorer of this season, accumulating 493 runs with an average of 70.42 in the nine matches played so far, and is currently the Orange Cap holder. 

Middle Order

In the middle order, captain batter Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the team. After struggling to score runs in the initial matches, Harmanpreet accumulated 36 runs and 20 in the last two games. Having scored over 120 runs in the last three matches, Harman is getting the form back right before the finals. She will bat alongside wicketkeeper Yashika Bhatiya and Amanjot Kaur in the middle order. 

Lower order

In the lower order, Mumbai Indians have Sanjeevana Sanjana and Kamalini Gunalan. Both the batters can hit some big shots and scored runs quickly in the last few overs.

Bowlers

On the bowling side, the Mumbai Indians have Amelia Kerr, Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Hayley Matthews as key bowlers. Amelia Kerr and Hayley Matthews are in excellent form and are the top wicket-takers of the season. Both bowlers have taken 17 and 16 wickets each in the tournament and currently rank 1st and 2nd on the points table. Additionally, Shabnim Ismail will play a crucial role; in the last encounter against Gujarat, Ismail claimed two important wickets. Furthermore, other all-rounders on the team will assist with the bowling.
