ICC World Test Championship 2025–27: Full Schedule, Format, and Points System Explained

The 2025–2027 ICC World Test Championship will mark the fourth edition of this prestigious tournament in the Test cricket format. It is set to begin in June 2025, and the grand final will take place in June 2027 at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground.
In this tournament, a total of 27 series and 71 matches will be played during the league stage. The top two teams on the points table at the end will qualify for the final. Each team will play 6 Test series in total, 3 at home and 3 away. Every series will have between 2 and 5 Test matches.
The points system is the same as last time. A team gets 12 points for a win. If the match is tied, both teams get 6 points each. In case of a draw, each team gets 4 points. A loss gives no points. If a team doesn’t bowl their overs on time, they’ll lose 1 point for every over they are short. Teams will be ranked based on the percentage of points they earn.
