ICC Annual Meeting 2025: Jay Shah to Lead as Major Reforms in Cricket Take Center Stage in Singapore

ICC Annual Meeting 2025: Jay Shah to Lead as Major Reforms in Cricket Take Center Stage in SingaporeThe ICC's annual meeting is expected to be held in Singapore around the third week of July, according to a report by Cricbuzz. This will be the first meeting led by Jay Shah, the former BCCI secretary who is now the ICC president. A few important decisions are likely to be made during this gathering.

The decision to hold the meeting in Singapore was made during recent gatherings in Harare and Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Since Singapore is also Imran Khawaja’s home country, this will mark the first time the ICC annual conference is being held there.

ICC Plans New Changes in Cricket

To begin with, the ICC is thinking about setting up a Working Group to look into the suggestions made by the Cricket Committee, which is led by Sourav Ganguly. One of the key ideas being discussed is using just one ball in ODIs from the 25th over onwards, to help bring back reverse swing and make things more exciting for bowlers.

Not just that, there could be discussions over brining in-game clocks in Tests, so that 90 overs are completed in a day. There were also suggestions for white-ball formats too, where the time limit in-between the overs should not be more than 60 seconds. Plus, there could be efforts to introduce the boys U-19 World Cup in T20 format; something which has already started in the women’s game.

Besides that, talks have already taken place about setting up the World Cricket Association. The idea is to change how the ICC is run, especially when it comes to how money is shared among the member countries.
