Sahibzada Farhan among nominees for ICC Player of the Month award
Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan’s magical run at the T20 World Cup has landed him among the nominees for the ICC Player of the Month award for February 2026.
Farhan scored 383 runs in six games, on the back of two centuries. In doing so, he became the first player to ever score two tons in a single T20 World Cup edition and also passed Virat Kohli with the highest runs in one T20 World Cup edition.
Overall, he averaged 76.6 in six innings while striking at 160. His performance was arguably one of the few reasons behind Pakistan’s progress to the Super Eights.
Shadley van Schalkwyk
Along with him, USA’s pacer Shadley van Schalkwyk and English all-rounder Will Jacks are the other nominees. Van Schalkwyk was spectacular during the T20 World Cup, more spectacular than numbers can define.
He took 13 wickets, ending as the tournament’s joint second-highest wicket-taker. But what set him apart from other bowlers is that he took these scalps in just four games.
For bowlers who have taken at least 10 wickets in a T20 World Cup edition, Van Schalkwyk has the best average, a staggering 7.76.
Will Jacks
Will Jacks, on the other hand, had an incredible time with both the ball and the bat. Besides scoring 226 runs at a strike rate of 176, Jacks also grabbed 9 wickets, seven of which came in the more high-stakes latter end of the tournament.
