IPL 2026: Five Overseas Cricketers Who Might Debut This Season

IPL is about to start. Like every year, many best T20 players from various countries will participate in this tournament. IPL teams look for new overseas players in their auction. They also look for those players who are performing well in various tournaments like Big Bash League, SA20, Hundred, ILT20, and Major League Cricket.

This year also, some international players are performing well in these tournaments and are in focus. As IPL 2026 is near, fans are excited to watch new overseas players playing in the IPL for the first time. These players might add some new skills to their teams. Only four overseas players from each team will play in their playing XI. They will have to choose carefully. Here are five players who might make their IPL debut this season.

5. Ben Dwarshuis

Australian left-arm fast bowler Ben Dwarshuis secured a contract in the Indian Premier League after he remained unsold in the first round of the mini-auction for IPL 2026. His base price is ₹1 crore, but he will now play for PBKS after being bought for ₹4.40 crore in the accelerated phase due to his good performances in the Big Bash League.

Dwarshuis is 31 years old and has been included in the squads for the Indian Premier League but has not yet played a match in the tournament. This season, he has a good chance of playing his first match in the Indian Premier League. He can play in the powerplay and in the final overs, and he will also perform on slow pitches.

4. Jordan Cox

England wicketkeeper-batter Jordan Cox may make his IPL debut this season. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) purchased him for ₹75 lakh. Jordan Cox was not purchased in the first few rounds of the auction.

Jordan Cox can play as a wicketkeeper and bat in the middle order. Jordan Cox may begin as a substitute player, but he can also play a few games this season due to his attacking batting skills.

3. Blessing Muzarabani

Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani has been registered by Kolkata Knight Riders as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman. The 6 ft 8 inch pacer now has a good chance to play his first IPL match.

Since Harshit Rana is injured, Muzarabani might get a chance to play in the playing eleven. The Zimbabwean fast bowler performed well in the T20 World Cup 2026 as well. He took 13 wickets in six matches, and his economy rate was 7.89.

2. Pathum Nissanka

Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka was bought by Delhi Capitals (DC) for ₹4 crore in the IPL 2026 mini-auction. He has been one of Sri Lanka’s most consistent batters in recent years. In T20 internationals in 2025, Nissanka scored 976 runs in 26 innings with a strike rate above 160. His attacking batting can help Delhi Capitals get good starts at the top of the order.

1. Finn Allen

New Zealand's opening batsman Finn Allen may make his IPL debut this season by joining Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Finn Allen is known for his attacking batting in the powerplay. The wicketkeeper-batsman has a T20 strike rate of over 176, which makes him extremely lethal in the powerplay. Finn Allen also performed well in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 and scored an unbeaten century off just 33 deliveries. This may also prove to be beneficial for him to make it to the playing XI of KKR.
