Australia vs South Africa 3rd ODI: Where to Watch, H2H Stats, Playing XI, and Pitch Report

[ Poll: vZ5dzPL2 ]

After two heavy defeats in the opening games, Australia (AUS) will host South Africa (SA) one last time in the third and final ODI on Sunday, August 24, at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay.

The Aussies have struggled badly in the series, going down by 98 runs in the first match and 84 runs in the second. While a few players have shown flashes of good form, the team as a whole hasn’t been able to click together. With the series already lost, Mitchell Marsh and his men will be desperate to end on a positive note and grab a consolation win.

For South Africa, regular skipper Temba Bavuma could return after sitting out the second ODI to manage his hamstring. If fit, he will be keen to lead from the front and guide his team to a 3-0 sweep. The Proteas will be aiming for nothing less than a clean whitewash to underline their dominance on Australian soil.

SA vs AUS 3rd ODI: Pitch Report

Friday marked the first-ever completed ODI at the Great Barrier Reef Arena, where South Africa managed 277 runs in their innings. The surface had plenty more to offer, but a couple of unfortunate dismissals meant Aiden Markram’s men couldn’t quite push the total higher. As the sides get ready to meet again, a target in the range of 320–340 looks realistic on this pitch, and the toss winner is likely to prefer batting first.
