Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma Legally End Their Marriage After 4 Years: Reports
Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree’s relationship has come to an end after being together for four years. They officially got divorced on Thursday, February 20. As per reports, the couple had to appear at the family court in Bandra, Mumbai, where they completed the legal process. It is also said that they met the judge at 4 PM IST, after which they received their divorce certificate.
Reports say that Chahal and Dhanashree Verma have decided to part ways by mutual consent. Their divorce has been making headlines for the past few months, even though they haven't given an official statement yet. The news first emerged when they unfollowed each other on Instagram, and soon after, they removed photos of each other from social media, which nearly confirmed that things were not working out between them.
Chahal and Dhanashree’s Cryptic Social Media Posts
Following reports that Chahal and Dhanashree Verma have finalized their divorce, both shared mysterious updates on social media. In his post, the cricketer thanked God for always being there, saying that the Almighty has protected him more times than he can count.
"God has protected me more times than I can count. So I can only imagine the times I’ve been rescued that I don’t even know about. Thank you, God, for always being there even when I don’t know it. Amen." Chahal took to his Instagram story and wrote.
Dhanashree Verma also thanked God for turning her life from hard times to better days. She mentioned that having faith in God gives you strength. Dhanashree wrote:
“From stressed to blessed. Isn’t amazing how God can turn our worries and trials to blessings? If you’re stressing about something today, know that you have a choice. You can either keep worrying or you can surrender it all to God and choose to pray about everything. There is power in having faith that God can work all things together for your good."
On December 22, 2020, Yuzvendra Chahal announced his wedding to his longtime love, Dhanashree Verma, with a heartfelt social media post. He shared, "We started at 'Once Upon A Time' and found 'Our Happily Ever After' because finally, #DhanaSaidYuz for infinity and beyond!" The couple, who had been together for four years, had gotten engaged in August just before IPL 2020 began.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma got married in Gurugram in December 2020 after they first connected during the Covid period when Chahal joined Dhanashree’s YouTube dance classes, and later became engaged. Chahal has not played for the India National Cricket Team since the T20 World Cup 2024, and he is set to return in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, where Punjab Kings picked him for 18 crore.
