Taskin Ahmed Sets BPL Record with 7-Wicket Haul to Lead Rajshahi to Victory

The Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed achieved a record in BPL. He was playing for the Durbar Rajshahi team, which was led by Anamul Haque. Durbar Rajshahi played very well against Dhaka Capitals. Taskin outplayed the Capital's batting lineup and delivered an amazing show in BPL history.

On January 2, at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium, Taskin Ahmed picked up seven wickets in just four overs. This made him the first individual in BPL history to ever pull that off. His statistics were amazing, 7/19, which is the best anyone's done in both BPL and franchise T20 cricket. With his amazing performance, Durbar Rajshahi achieved a very strong victory.

The day was amazing for Taskin because he first took out Dhaka's main hitter Litton Das right at the beginning. Next, he knocked out Tanzid Hasan and changed everything quickly at the start. The amazing part is, he wasn't done yet. In his last two overs, he got five more players. Those he obtained included important names like Shahadat Hossain, Chaturanga de Silva, Alauddin Babu, Mukidul Islam, and Shubham Ranjane.

Three of these people were knocked in just the very last over. Taskin’s performance is now the third-best in T20 cricket history and the best in franchise T20 leagues. In BPL, he broke Mohammad Amir's previous record of 6/17.

Rajshahi was trying to hit a target of 175. They lost a few players very fast, but it was really good because their captain, Anamul Haque, and Ryan Burl both ended the inning without getting out and scored more than fifty runs each. This secured the team's first win. Meanwhile, Dhaka was unhappy with another defeat, making it their second one in a row.
