Tanzid Hasan Tamim joins Peshawar Zalmi for PSL 11
Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Peshawar Zalmi have made a late addition to their squad by roping in Bangladesh’s Tanzid Hasan Tamim for the upcoming season.
Bangladesh players at Zalmi
The signing comes after days of speculation, with franchise owner Javed Afridi hinting at it at one point.
Tanzid will join his teammates Shoriful Islam and Nahid Rana at Zalmi. Having only played in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in his franchise career, the opening batter will make his PSL debut with the franchise. He boasts an average of 28 in T20Is with a strike rate of 128.
Opening batters aplenty
It remains to be seen how Zalmi work around their combination, as they already have several opening batters, including Babar Azam, James Vince, and Mohammad Haris, among others, in their squad.
Tanzid is Peshawar’s seventh and final overseas signing for PSL 11. Barring the three Bangladesh cricketers, Zalmi have roped in Australia’s Aaron Hardie, New Zealand’s Michael Bracewell, England’s James Vince, and Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis in their foreign category.
