The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is being played in India and Sri Lanka. The tournament will start on 7 February and end on 8 March. A total of 20 teams are taking part, and 55 matches will be played in the tournament.

The event will begin with the group stage. The 20 teams are divided into four groups, with five teams in each group. The top two teams from every group will move to the Super 8 stage. In the Super 8 round, eight teams will be divided into two groups of four teams each. From these groups, the top two teams will qualify for the semi-finals.

India Founded: 1926

The India National Cricket Team represents India in international cricket and is one of the strongest teams in the world.

Pakistan Founded: 1952

The Pakistan cricket team is known for producing some of the most fearsome fast bowlers in world cricket.

India and Pakistan are placed in Group A. However, Pakistan have decided not to play the match against India. The match is scheduled in Colombo on 15 February, but it is still not clear if it will happen.

India and Pakistan can meet again later in the tournament if both teams reach the semi-finals or the final. They will not play each other in the Super 8 stage because of the fixed team seedings. India are the current champions. They won the last T20 World Cup in the West Indies by beating South Africa in the 2024 final. This time, India are trying to become the first host team to win the T20 World Cup and the first team to win the title two times in a row.
