Sri Lanka women's national cricket team announced their squad for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup on Friday, May 29. Veteran captain Chamari Athapaththu will lead the team once again in the big tournament. Sri Lanka are in Group B along with Ireland women's national cricket team, New Zealand women's national cricket team, Scotland women's national cricket team, West Indies women's national cricket team and England women's national cricket team.

They will start their campaign against hosts England on June 12 at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Inoka Ranaweera is the most notable absentee from the squad, who has the experience of playing 91 T20Is under her belt. The left-arm spinner has scalped 97 wickets in her career at an average of 19.06 and an economy of 5.95. She scalped three wickets from as many games in the last series against Bangladesh in April 2026.

Imesha Dulani, Hansima Karunarathne, Kaushini Nuthyangana, Sugandika Dassanayaka, Nimasha Madushani, Kawya Kavindi, Malki Madara and Mithali Ayodhya will all be playing their maiden edition of the Women's T20 World Cup.

The squad also includes experienced players like Hasini Perera, Harshitha Samarawickrama and Nilakshika Silva along with captain Chamari Athapaththu. Sri Lanka women's national cricket team will enter the tournament with confidence after beating Bangladesh women's national cricket team 3-0 in their recent series.
