Ireland women's national cricket team

The Ireland women's national cricket team is the international representative team for Ireland, governed by Cricket Ireland. Active since 1983, the team plays all formats of international cricket (Test, ODI, and T20I), with Laura Delany as the current captain. They recently qualified for the 2026 T20 World Cup Global Qualifier and are preparing for it under new Head Coach Lloyd Tennant.

Major Stadiums

The Ireland women's national cricket team trains at the Cricket Ireland High Performance Centre in Dublin and uses multiple major stadiums for matches, including Malahide Cricket Club Ground, Clontarf Cricket Club Ground, Stormont, and Bready. The High Performance Centre is the main training hub, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. 

Trophies And Major Tournament Performances

  • European Championship: Won in 2001, which was the only time the team won the tournament.
  • World Cup (ODI): Finished fifth in the 1993 World Cup and qualified for the tournament multiple times, with their last appearance being in 2005.
  • T20 World Cup: Qualified for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in 2014 and 2016.
  • Test Status: Awarded permanent Test status by the ICC in April 2021, though they have only played one Test match against Pakistan in 2000.
  • World Cup Qualifier: Won the inaugural 2003 IWCC Trophy, which qualified them for the 2005 World Cup.
