South Africa Announces Competition Schedule for the Next Three Editions of SA20
Cricket South Africa(CSA) has announced the competition window for the next three editions of the SA20. The third season of the SA20, which kicked off on January 9, 2025, will follow its usual schedule and ends on February 8.
The next edition of the SA20 will kick off on Boxing Day later this year, according to recent updates. This decision seems to have been made by Cricket South Africa (CSA) to avoid conflicting with the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka.
CSA has confirmed that the next edition of the SA20 season will launch from December 26 onwards later this year and will run until January 26 next year. Going away from the traditional SA20 window, the 2026 season of the tournament would start a couple of weeks earlier in a bid to give competing players breathing space for February’s 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
The SA20 will revert to its original slot of January 9 in each of the subsequent two editions in 2027 and 2028.
