Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s wedding to music composer Palash Muchhal has been put on hold. The decision came after Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, showed signs of a possible heart attack and was taken to a hospital in Sangli.
The next day, Palash was also admitted to a hospital. Following this, the wedding plans were stopped, and Smriti removed all wedding-related posts from her social media. Smriti and Palash, who have reportedly been together for six years, were set to tie the knot in an intimate ceremony in Sangli on November 23.

Pre-wedding festivities such as the Mehendi, Haldi, Sangeet, and even a fun Bride Team vs Groom Team cricket match had already taken place, with several members of the Indian women’s cricket team joining the celebrations. Their engagement announcement, proposal videos, and behind-the-scenes moments had also gone viral. The celebrations suddenly stopped when Shrinivas became very sick while having breakfast.
At first, the family thought it was nothing serious, but he later had to be taken by ambulance to Sarvhit Hospital. He is still being monitored there. Seeing this, Smriti, who is the Indian vice-captain, decided to put the wedding on hold with no new date until her father’s health improves.
Wedding Put on Hold After Health Scares in Smriti and Palash’s Families
Just as the family was trying to deal with the first situation, another shock came, news that Palash had also been taken to a hospital in Sangli. He was later discharged and has now returned to Mumbai. These two health scares made the couple decide to stop all wedding celebrations for now.
After this, Smriti and Palash removed all their wedding, engagement, and proposal posts, including the viral videos they had shared. Their close friends, like Jemimah Rodrigues and Shreyanka Patil, also deleted the video where they confirmed the engagement.
