Ahead of the 19th IPL season, teams are getting ready for the player auction to complete their squads. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), led by Rishabh Pant, have made an important addition but it’s not a player.

LSG have appointed Carl Crowe as their new spin-bowling coach for the upcoming season. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) announced on Tuesday that Carl Crowe has joined the team as their new spin bowling coach. The announcement came on his 50th birthday. Carl Crowe has earlier worked with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), where he played an important role in improving the performances of spinners like Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine.

Crowe is from England. He never played for the national team, but he had a decent domestic cricket career. He took 60 wickets in 42 first-class matches and 33 wickets in 40 List A games. He also played one T20 match and scored 9 runs.

Lucknow Super Giants have kept and traded a total of 19 players. This includes Rishabh Pant, who is now the costliest buy in IPL history at ₹27 crore. LSG will enter the IPL 2026 auction with six spots left to fill, including four overseas slots. They still have ₹22.95 crore left in their purse.
