Smith, Labuschagne, Mitchell among foreign players to reach Lahore for PSL 11

The eleventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is just a couple of sleeps away. And after what was a brief period of speculation about whether the league would go ahead as planned, several foreign players have reached Lahore to join their respective teams.
Smith and Labuschagne link up with their teams
Among them is Australia’s Steve Smith, who touched down in Pakistan from New York. Smith will join the debutant franchise Multan Sultans, who roped him in as PSL’s most expensive player for PKR 140 million.
Marnus Labuschagne, set to captain Hyderabad Kingsmen this PSL, and USA’s Shayan Jahangir and Hassan Khan, both in Kingsmen as well, have also landed in Lahore.
In addition, Daryl Mitchell, who will represent the debut franchise Rawalpindiz this year, has also reached Pakistan. Along with him, his New Zealand teammates, Mark Chapman and Devon Conway, who are part of Islamabad United, have also linked up with their PSL team.
Bangladesh players land in Lahore
Peshawar Zalmi has as many as three Bangladesh players on their roster this year, including Nahid Rana, Shoriful Islam, and Tanzid Hasan Tamim. Rana and Shoriful, along with Lahore Qalandars’ Mustafizur Rahman and Parvez Hossain Emon, flew from Dhaka to Lahore yesterday.
Coaches are here
Besides the players, the coaching staff of several teams, including Australia’s Tim Paine, who will be Sultans head coach, along with other coaching staff members Brendan Wilson and Mike Smith, are in the country. South Africa’s Justin Kemp, who was appointed as Rawalpindiz head coach, and New Zealand’s Luke Ronchi and Jacob Oram, both part of Islamabad United, are also among those who flew to Pakistan.
