Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has got engaged to his girlfriend Sophie Shine. He shared the happy news by posting about it on Instagram.

"From shared smiles to shared dreams. Grateful for the love, the blessings and every good wish for our engagement as we choose togetherness forever. Shikhar and Sophie," Dhawan wrote in a caption to his Instagram post with a picture of his hand beneath Sophie's hand.

Sophie Shine is from Ireland and has a background in marketing and management. She studied at Limerick Institute of Technology and Castletroy College. Currently, she is working as a product consultant and holds a senior role (Second Vice President) at Northern Trust Corporation in Abu Dhabi.

Sophie and Shikhar Dhawan made their relationship public on Instagram in 2025, which caught a lot of media attention. The couple is said to be planning their wedding in February 2026 in the Delhi-NCR area. This will be Dhawan’s second marriage. He married Ayesha Mukherjee in 2012 and has a son with her named Zoravar.

However, Dhawan got divorced in October 2023. Since then, he has been in a relationship with Sophie Shine. The couple had confirmed their relationship through social media in 2025. Meanwhile, Dhawan announced retirement from international and domestic cricket in August 2024.

"It's important to turn the page to move forward in life, and that's why I am announcing my retirement from international and domestic cricket," Dhawan had said in a video message.

"I am leaving with peace in my heart that I played for so long for India. I tell myself not to feel sad that you will not play for India anymore, but to feel happy that you played for your country," he added.
