Rahul Dravid's Son Anvay Stuns with 90-Run Knock to Save Karnataka Against Rajasthan

On December 29, Rahul Dravid's younger son Anvay, played a key role in Karnataka’s victory over Rajasthan in the Vijay Merchant Trophy Men’s Under-16 match at CP Ground, Mulapadu, scoring a vital 90 runs.

Anvay Steps Up Amidst Wickets Falling

When Karnataka was at 52/2 during the 20th over, Anvay stepped up to bat. Karnataka's captain Dhruv Krishnan, had already been knocked out by Harsh Singh, scoring a single-digit score. Arush Jain, who began quite well but didn't make a major impact, was removed by Rajat Baghel after making 20 runs from 41 balls. Soon after that, Arya J Gowda, one of the openers, also was removed by Baghel, having made 27 runs from 86 balls.

Anvay staying steady even as his team took things away from him. Before getting out, he managed to team up with Syaamantak Anirudh, and together they pulled off a spectacular 62-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Sukurth J had a rough time too, managing to score only 11 runs from 23 balls because of Baghel. Puru Dewadwal contributed a bit by adding 22 runs from 65 balls but then he was taken out.

As for Anvay, he was doing well until Sujal Parmar stopped him, ending his fantastic 90-run performance, which was filled with 12 amazing boundaries in 140 balls. Karnataka managed to score 239 runs in 81.5 overs but it wasn't an easy path. Atharv S Deshpande was out quickly, making only 2 runs from 7 balls. Then things looked a bit shaky for the team.

Hiremarth's Five-Wicket Haul Leads Karnataka's Dominant Bowling Performance

Karnataka ended up leading by 116 runs. Rajasthan managed to score only 123 runs in 53.5 overs, which was very low. Hiremarth became very good at it with his bowling, getting five wickets. Gaurav Venkatesh wasn't far behind with three wickets, and Sukurth also did well by getting two. When it came to batting, only Ekansh Sharma and Yatharth Bhardawaj put in any real numbers for Rajasthan. Sharma made 32 runs after facing 134 balls, and Bhardawaj added 41 off just 62 balls.

Anvay's Award-Winning Performance

Anvay got two awards from the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Annual Awards on December 28, earlier than the game. He managed to score 357 runs in five games, making him the leading run-scorer for Karnataka in the last Vijay Merchant Trophy with an average of 45; this included scoring more than fifty runs in four matches.
