Pat Cummins Becomes First Captain to Win 20 Matches in World Test Championship

After a long 10 years of waiting, Australia finally won the BGT trophy again in the 2024/25 season. This win was of significant consequence because they hadn't won any games since the 2014/15 season. This win was of significant consequence for Australia, ending their long drought of losses.

Cummins did a great job by making Australia win the Sydney Test and it just really improved how people think of him. By doing so, he secured a massive milestone by being the first captain to secure 20 wins in the World Test Championship (WTC). Under his watch, Australia secured victories in 20 out of their 33 matches.
Then Ben Stokes from England trailing behind with his own record of winning 17 out of his 29 games, putting him in the runner up spot. Following him is none other than Virat Kohli the ex-captain of the India cricket team who secure 14 wins from 22 matches before he stepped down from the captaincy in January 2022.
Also, Cummins is one of just two captains to win a World Test Championship title. He helped Australia win against India in the 2023 final. They've an excellent chance to win again because Australia made it to the 2025 final, and they're about to play South Africa. This is the first time they're facing each other in the final, and it's happening at Lord's Cricket Ground from June 11 to 15.
Australia staged a comeback against India
In the first test in Perth, Australia had a low start to the Border Gavaskar Trophy and faced a massive 295 run defeat but in the second match, they changed everything and conjoined a 10-wicket win. They were hoping to win in the third test in Brisbane but then the rain had to ruin everything. Nevertheless, they forgot about it and, in the Boxing Day test, they did a great job by 7 wickets in the last session to lead the series 2-1. Then, with a solid effort in Sydney, they took the series by a 3-1 margin, won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
