Champions Trophy :Jasprit Bumrah is India's New Vice Captain, Pandya and Iyer...

After a disappointing defeat in the Border Gavaskar trophy, India will return against England for a five-match T20I series and the match ODI series before heading towards Dubai for the Champions Trophy 2025.
As per the sources, after making Shubman Gill India's vice-captain for white ball cricket last year, India's selector has decided to bring a change again and reward Jaspreet Bumrah for his performance in the Border Gavaskar Trophy by making him the vice-captain for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The second development is regarding Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer, who are all set to make a comeback in the ODI series against England.
Jasprit Bumrah: The New Vice Captain

After the 2023 World Cup, Shubman Gill was made vice-captain, but selectors have changed their minds. They ignored both him and Hardik Pandya and are all set to make Jaspreet Bumrah vice-captain for the upcoming Champions Trophy. Bumrah has only once acted as vice-captain in his career: when he was KL Rahul's deputy for the ODI series against South Africa in 2022 and made his captaincy debut against Ireland in 2023.
In the recently completed test series against Australia, Bumrah was the captain in the first and last test match of the series. India won the only test match of the series under his leadership. The selection committee meeting next week will most likely announce Bumrah as the vice-captain. Since the ICC deadline for submitting Champions Trophy squad details is January 12, the decision regarding the team is likely to be announced by January 11.
The ICC Champions Trophy will start on 19 February with the match between New Zealand and Pakistan and end with the final on 9 February. The tournament will be hosted in Pakistan, but since India has shown its inability to travel to Pakistan, all the matches of India's team will be played in Dubai, including the much-awaited India versus Pakistan match.
Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer Back To Make A Comeback

Before the Champions Trophy, India will play a three-match ODI series against England for the tournament preparation and in that series, Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer are set to play for India in the ODI after almost 15 months. It's expected that most of the players who will be part of the Champions Trophy scoring will also play in the ODI series against England, except Jasprit Bumrah, who could be rested if he is not fit.
