Nitish Reddy Responds Strongly to Critics After Heroic Performance in 4th Test

In the ongoing series, Nitish Reddy has played very well with his bat by achieving 293 runs across six innings. Reddy has a batting average higher than 58, which is really great. In the 4th Test, his century, which was 114 runs, really assisted with India obtaining a first-innings total of 369.
On Saturday, Reddy’s brilliant knock not only saved India from a collapse but also proved a point to his critics. Speaking after the fourth day’s play against Australia, Reddy shared his thoughts:
Nitish Kumar Reddy said "Some people doubted me. It was like a youngster who played IPL, who came here and he can’t perform in such a big series. I want to prove them wrong. I want people to know that I am here to give my 100 per cent for the Indian team". [Press] pic.twitter.com/lg9xR2nUmv

“Some people doubted me. They thought a young player who has mostly played IPL couldn’t handle such a big series. I heard those comments,” Reddy said.
“I just wanted to prove them wrong. I want everyone to know I’m here to give my 100% for Team India,” he added.
Reddy also spoke emotionally about the sacrifices his parents, especially his father, made for his cricketing journey.
“To be honest, my father, Mutyalu Reddy, worked in the central government for 25 years. Back then, I was just a nobody who hadn’t even played at the state level. But he believed in me. He quit his job just so he could support me,” Reddy said.
“He would take me to practice, the gym, and stay with me through everything. He made so many sacrifices. Words aren’t enough to explain what he has done for me, but I’m so grateful to have him as my father. Scoring this century was special not just for me but for him too. Helping my team fight back in a tough situation made it even better,” he shared.
