MS Dhoni doubtful for first two weeks of IPL 2026 amid injury concerns

In a big update for Chennai Super Kings, MS Dhoni may miss the first two weeks of Indian Premier League 2026 because he is recovering from a calf injury. Chennai Super Kings took to social media to share the news with their fans. It is worth noting that Chennai Super Kings kick off their IPL season by taking on Rajasthan Royals.

The two teams will play at Barsapara Cricket Stadium on March 30, and without MS Dhoni, it will be interesting to see how Chennai Super Kings perform in the match. Over the last few years, Dhoni has been exclusively competing in the IPL, often playing despite knee injuries, but has always been there when the side needed him, even leading them to a title back in 2023 when they defeated Gujarat Titans in the final.

MS Dhoni may miss the first two weeks of IPL 2026, according to Chennai Super Kings. He is already set to miss the match against Rajasthan Royals, and could also miss a few more early games during this period. 

In the first two weeks of IPL 2026, Chennai Super Kings will play against Rajasthan Royals, Punjab Kings (home), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (away), and Delhi Capitals (home). So, MS Dhoni could miss all of these matches if he is unavailable for the first two weeks. It could be interesting see how Dhoni plans his comeback, and when he manages to make his way into the side.
