KL Rahul Wins 'Impact Fielder' Award for India's Champions Trophy Opener Against Bangladesh

India's wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul won the 'Impact Fielder' award for the team's first match of the 2025 Champions Trophy against Bangladesh. India's fielding coach T Dilip, named Rahul, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill as contenders for the medal, which eventually was won by the Karnataka player, who claimed three catches behind the stumps in Dubai.

KL Rahul also built a crucial partnership with Shubman Gill after India lost three quick wickets. He stayed unbeaten with 41 runs off 47 balls and finished the match in style with a winning six.

BCCI announced the winner of the 'Impact Fielder' Award in Dubai through their social media.

"I think fielding in Dubai isn't straightforward. I think if you look at the dome lights out there, catching becomes a little tricky. He takes every game as an opportunity to learn and respond. Rohit Sharma's team started their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign with a solid win, defeating Bangladesh by six wickets. With this victory, Team India has gained momentum and will now take on Pakistan in a highly anticipated match on February 23 at the same venue.
