Meanwhile, the Indian team has already secured the series win in the second ODI match at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack. The star Indian captain Rohit Sharma returned to form with an amazing 119 off 90 balls. The vice-captain Shubman Gill also scored 60 runs, while the star middle-order batters Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel contributed 44 and 41 runs.
In the bowling department, Ravindra Jadeja was India’s standout performer, finishing with figures of 3/35. It was his second consecutive match with three wickets. Virat Kohli missed the first ODI due to a knee injury, but he made a comeback in the second ODI. However, he didn’t score well, as he was dismissed for just five by England’s leg-spinner Adil Rashid.
For the third ODI, India might give game time to a few players who have been on the bench, helping them get into form before the ICC event. India will play all their matches, including the knockouts, in Dubai, while the other games not involving India will be held in Pakistan.
