Neetu David Selection Panel Members to Receive Share of BCCI’s ₹51 Crore Reward

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announces a reward of ₹51 crore for the Indian women's team, their support staff, and the selection committee for winning the World Cup. It is confirmed that the previous selection committee, headed by Neetu David, would be awarded the bonus and not the newly formed committee.
A senior BCCI official told Cricbuzz on Monday (November 3) that the previous committee members would receive the benefit of the reward money, although how the prize money would be split has not been revealed. The previous selection committee also included Renu Margrate, Arati Vaidya, Kalpana Venkatachar, and Shyama Dey Shaw, who worked with Neetu David when they announced the squad for the World Cup on September 4.
Once the tournament was over, the BCCI disbanded the committee, electing Amita Sharma to lead the newly formed committee at the AGM on September 28. The selectors were Sulakshana Naik, Jaya Sharma, and Sravanthi Naidu, with Sharma the only returning committee member from the previous committee.
The new committee had largely stayed away from World Cup duty and focused on domestic cricket at the directive of the board. There were Under-19 and senior women's matches taking place around India amongst other duties the selectors had.

When Pratika Rawal was ruled out prior to the semi-final, neither the old committee nor the new committee made a decision about a replacement. The team management decided to call Shafali Verma, the only available opener with international experience.
In an official statement, the BCCI said, “Recognising this historic achievement, BCCI announces a cash prize of ₹51 crore for the players, support staff, and selection committee, in recognition of their sacrifice and contribution towards the nation’s glory in sporting achievements.”

The board expressed its gratitude to Jay Shah, who was the BCCI Secretary then and is currently ICC Chairman, praising him for his efforts to develop women's cricket, which included initiatives like equal match fees and the initiation of the Women's Premier League (WPL).
The statement also said, “During his tenure, Mr. Shah was responsible for leading major reforms which changed the landscape for women’s cricket in India, including increased domestic structures, professional competitions at elite level and improved infrastructure across the country.”
