Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced a cash prize of ₹1 crore for fast bowler Renuka Singh Thakur for her performance in the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025. Renuka, who comes from Parsa village in Rohru area of Shimla district, played an important part in helping India win their first-ever World Cup title.

Talking to reporters here, he said that "daughters of our country have scripted history by winning the World Cup" and congratulated the whole team and its captain for the achievement.

India defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final to win their first-ever World Cup title at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister personally called Renuka to congratulate her. He praised her bowling and said she did a great job keeping the opponents under pressure throughout the match.

"I have seen the final match and you performed well and the state is proud of you," he told Renuka.

MP CM announces ₹1 crore reward for World Cup winner Kranti Gaud

The Chief Minister also promised to give a job to the 29-year-old all-rounder. Earlier, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav had given ₹1 crore to Kranti Goud for her performance in the World Cup. He congratulated Team India for their success and praised Goud for making Madhya Pradesh proud.

"I want to congratulate everyone for the way the daughter of our state and the daughters of the country performed brilliantly in cricket last night," Chief Minister Mohan Yadav told reporters here.

"Madhya Pradesh's daughter Kranti Gaud was also part of the women's World Cup-winning team. I want to congratulate Kranti and give her an incentive of Rs 1 crore from the state government. I announce to give Rs one crore to Kranti, the daughter of Chattarpur," the CM said.
