WPL Points Table: Smriti Mandhana's Blitz and RCB's Bowling Masterclass Secure Top Spot

WPL Points Table: Smriti Mandhana's Blitz and RCB's Bowling Masterclass Secure Top SpotRoyal Challengers Bangalore Women secured their second consecutive win against Delhi Capitals, moving to the top of the points table. Renuka Singh was the star with the ball, picking up 3/23, while skipper Smriti Mandhana led from the front with a brilliant knock of 81 runs, guiding RCB to a comfortable win in just 16.2 overs.

Delhi Capitals Women were off to a tough start after they were put into bat, losing the toss. Things took a turn for the worse when Shafali Verma was dismissed for a golden duck on the first ball of the innings. Captain Meg Lanning and Jemimah Rodrigues put together a solid 59-run partnership for the second wicket. Lanning was out after making 17 runs off 19 balls, which included three boundaries. Rodrigues was the top scorer for DC, finishing with a quick 34 off 22 balls, including four fours and two sixes. Even though they tried hard, Delhi kept losing wickets and couldn’t build any strong partnerships. In the end, they were all out for 141 runs.

RCB’s bowlers bowled very well with Renuka Singh and Georgia Wareham each taking three wickets. Kim Garth and Ekta Bisht also both took two wickets.

RCB had a great start while chasing 142, thanks to Smriti Mandhana and Danni Wyatt Hodge. The two openers put up a quick 107-run partnership in just 10.5 overs, making the chase easy for their team. Wyatt Hodge played well, scoring 42 runs from 33 balls with seven boundaries before getting out. Mandhana played an excellent knock of 81 runs from just 47 balls, hitting 10 fours and three sixes to win the match.

With just nine runs needed for victory, Mandhana fell, but Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh ensured there were no further hiccups, finishing the job in style. RCB chased simply in 16.2 overs, losing only two wickets.
