Jaiswal Warns Sam Konstas to 'Do Your Job,' Then Strikes Him on the Next Ball – Watch

On Monday, during the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, Yashasvi Jaiswal found himself in the middle of a heated exchange with 19-year-old Sam Konstas.

Even though Konstas didn't do well with the bat, bowled out by Jasprit Bumrah quite early in the second innings, everyone was still discussing him. Before this, he had a heated exchange with Virat Kohli that caught a lot of attention. Now, he decided to mock that earlier scene with Kohli, pretending to bump shoulders again; the cameras caught him doing this, making sure everyone was watching him even though he didn't care much.

This time, Konstas tried to rattle Jaiswal with some on-field chatter. However, Jaiswal didn't have any of it. Caught on the stump mic, the 22-year-old Indian opener shut him down with a sharp retort, saying, "Do your job!". He even turned to Alex Carey, asking, "Why is he talking?" before focusing back on his game.

Jaiswal was really annoyed, and he didn't simply ignore it with Konstas. The ball ended up hitting Konstas on the arm the following time Jaiswal got to hit it. It looked as if Konstas didn't feel hurt but the ball still smacked his hand. This incident kind of showed how fed up Jaiswal was with whatever Konstas was doing to bother him.

Jaiswal's Controversial Dismissal: Another Heartbreak for India

The match became even more dramatic when Yashasvi Jaiswal got out. Jaiswal tried to hit a pull shot off Pat Cummins when he was on 84, but he didn't connect. Immediately, the Australian players thought he was caught behind and made an appeal but Joel Wilson, the umpire on the ground, didn't agree with them.

The event was that Pat Cummins wasn't quite accepting of the first call, so he called for a review; that's when Sharfuddoula, the TV Umpire, got involved; they looked at the front-on visuals, and Sharfuddoula saw something was off, such as a deflection, even though the Snickometer which is used to detect edges or touches didn't really show anything definite. Because of that, he went ahead and changed the initial decision.

The Australian crowd went anomalous with joy but India was beaten badly at a terrible moment because they lost their well-performing opener just when they depended on him greatly. Walking back to the pavilion, Jaiswal was clearly shocked since he didn't hit a century again, the second time in a row.
