Sanjay Manjrekar describes Jasprit Bumrah as a gift from the cricketing gods to India
Jasprit Bumrah did great on Monday, December 30 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) when he got Nathan Lyon's wicket early during day 5 of the fourth Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test. Bumrah ended Australia's second innings by taking the final wicket, which was a massive moment for him because it meant he completed a five-wicket haul; this was no small feat, because he secured 30 wickets in the series in Australia, no one other Indian has ever done; the person's now in the same league as cricket legends like Bishan Singh Bedi and Sir Curtly Ambrose, who did similar 32 years ago.
Sanjay Manjrekar, who used to play cricket for India and now discusses it on TV, was extremely impressed with Bumrah's game. Manjrekar spoke to the people showing the game on TV and said, "Bumrah doesn't have any weaknesses. He thinks of him as a magic helper for Indian cricket, basically like someone who makes all their wishes happen. Manjrekar pointed out how Bumrah always comes through, not simply in important tournaments such as the T20 World Cup or the 50-over World Cup but also in tough matches, where other bowlers can't seem to do much. Bumrah manages to move the ball sideways when no one else can".

Manjrekar applauded Bumrah for hitting the 200 wickets mark in Test cricket. When he took out Alex Carey, It was like he was bowling to someone who isn't good at batting, similar to they're at the end of the lineup. Bumrah did it with only two balls left in his bowling turn, and it was pretty clear he wasn't going to bowl anymore after that but he got Carey out. Then, when you look at his average, it just amazes you. It makes you think of legends such as Curtly Ambrose. I actually got to play against Malcolm Marshall. These men are cricket legends, and Bumrah having an average below 20 after taking 200 wickets is just surprising, he mentioned.
There's an amazing thing that happened on Sunday, December 29. Bumrah, a really quick bowler, hit his 200th Test wicket faster than any other Indian fast bowler, and he only needed 85 Test innings to do it. On top of that, he has the second best bowling average ever in Australia for anyone who's taken more than 20 wickets in a series - his average was 12.38; the only person who had a lower average was Richard Hadlee, who had an average of 12.15 after taking 33 wickets in 1985.
