Veteran India fast bowler Mohit Sharma has announced on social media that he is retiring from all forms of cricket. After playing 34 international matches and many seasons in the IPL, he has decided that it’s the right time to step away from the game.
He shared an emotional message on Instagram, thanking his fans for their support, remembering the time he spent on the field, and expressing his gratitude to the Haryana Cricket Association for his journey in domestic cricket.

“From representing Haryana to wearing the India jersey and playing in the IPL, this journey has been nothing short of blessing. A very special Thanku to the Haryana Cricket Association for being the backbone of my career. And my deepest gratitude to Anirudh Sir, who's constant guidance and belief in me shaped my path in ways words cannot express,” Mohit Sharma captioned the post.
“Thanku to the Bcci, my coaches, my teammates, ipl franchises, support stuff and all my friends for their love and support. Special thanks to my wife who always handled my mood swings and anger, and supported me through everything. I look forward to serving the game in fresh ways. Thanku so much. Innings over gratitude forever,” he added.
Mohit Sharma has played for several teams in the IPL over the years. He spent four seasons with Chennai Super Kings, three with Punjab Kings, two with Gujarat Titans, and two with Delhi Capitals. Even with so much experience in the league, he couldn’t win a single IPL title. He ended up on the losing side in the finals of 2013, 2015, 2019, 2020/21, and 2023.
