Edgbaston Weather Update: Rain Threat Looms Over ENG vs IND 2nd Test, Day 1

Edgbaston Weather Update: Rain Threat Looms Over ENG vs IND 2nd Test, Day 1The second Test between India and England is all set to begin today at Edgbaston in Birmingham. India is currently trailing 0-1 in the series after losing the first Test at Headingley in Leeds, even though they scored five centuries across both innings. Edgbaston hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for India, they haven’t won a single Test there in the past 57 years. As the team looks to bounce back and level the series in Birmingham, let’s take a look at the weather forecast in the city for the next five days.

ENG vs IND 2nd Test: The first two sessions of the opening day were disrupted by rain

The weather isn’t looking too good for the first day of the second Test in Birmingham. Showers are expected around 9 and 10 in the morning, and there’s also a good chance of rain again in the evening, especially around 7 PM. The match is supposed to start at 11 AM, but if the rain sticks around through the morning, we might see a delayed start.

Even though the pitch is expected to be extremely good to bat on, the overhead conditions for the first few hours is likely to force the team winning the toss to bowl first. The red cherry will certainly move a lot as the sun is only expected to come out at 8 PM today.

ENG vs IND 2nd Test: What's the forecast for the next four days?

The weather forecast for the Birmingham Test match isn't looking too promising. While the second and third days are expected to be mostly clear, clouds are likely on the third day. Heavy rain is predicted for Saturday and Sunday, which are the fourth and fifth days of the match.

This means the first day and the last two days could be affected by rain, leading to possible interruptions. With this in mind, the big question is whether both India and England will have enough time to take 20 wickets each. Of course, the weather in the UK can change quickly, but for now, things aren’t looking too good.
