Deepti Sharma Makes History with Six-Wicket Haul Against West Indies in 3rd ODI

In the final ODI of the series against the West Indies, Deepti Sharma stole the show for India. She took 6 wickets while giving away just 31 runs. With this brilliant performance, she set a new record for the most five-wicket hauls (3) by any Indian bowler in ODIs.
The West Indies struggled under the pressure of India’s bowlers and managed to score only 162 runs. Renuka Singh gave India an early start by taking three quick wickets, putting the visitors in a tough spot. Then, Deepti stepped up and dominated the middle and lower order of West Indies with her fantastic spin bowling.

Deepti made a big impact by breaking the 91-run partnership between Shemaine Campbelle and Chinelle Henry, dismissing Campbelle for 46. In her next over, she got rid of Zaida James, leaving the West Indies struggling at 102/5.

Henry was the top scorer for the visitors with a solid 61. She tried to rebuild the innings with Aaliyah Alleyne in a 39-run partnership. But Deepti struck again, bowling out Henry with a superb delivery. She followed it up by dismissing Alleyne for 21, crushing any hopes the West Indies had of putting up a competitive score.
Deepti wrapped things up by taking the last two wickets, removing Afy Fletcher and Mandy Mangru. Her spell of 6/31 in 10 overs, including three maidens, now stands as the best bowling figures against the West Indies in Women’s ODIs.
